तदुपप्रेयाय सर्वजवेन तन्न शशाक दग्धुं स तत एव निववृते नैतदशकं विज्ञातुं यदेतद्यक्षमिति ॥ ६॥
Understanding this, the Yaksha placed a straw in front of Agnidev and asked him to burn it. Agnidev went towards him with full speed but could not burn him despite using all his strength and after returning from there he said in front of the gods - I could not find out who this Yaksha is.

ऐसा समझ कर यक्ष ने अग्निदेव के सामने एक तिनका रखा और कहा कि इसे जला! अग्निदेव पूरे वेग से उसके पास गए परन्तु अपनी सारी शक्ति लगा कर भी उसको न जला सके और वहीं से लौट कर देवताओं के समक्ष बोले कि - मैं इसको न जान सका कि यह यक्ष कौन है I

The gods then said to Vayudev, O Vayu! You go and see who this Yaksha is. Vayu said – Very good.

Vayudev ran to Brahma in the form of Yaksha, Yaksha asked him who are you? He said- I am Vayu, I am definitely Matarishva.

तस्मिँस्त्वयि किं वीर्यमित्यपीदँ सर्वमाददीय यदिदं पृथिव्यामिति ॥९॥
Yaksha asked: Okay! What power do you have? Vayudev said - I can blow away everything that is on earth - I have this power.

यक्ष ने पूछा: अच्छा! तुझ में क्या शक्ति है? वायुदेव ने कहा- जो कुछ पृथ्वी पर है मैं सबको उड़ा सकता हूँ -मुझ में यह शक्ति है।

तस्मै तृणं निदधावेतदादत्स्वेति तदुपप्रेयाय सर्वजवेन तन्न शशाकादातुं स तत एव निववृते नैतदशकं विज्ञातुं यदेतद्यक्षमिति ॥ १०॥
Yaksha placed the same straw in front of him and asked him to blow it. Vayudev reached near his straw with all his speed, but could not blow away that straw. Then he returned from there and said to the gods - I could not know who this Yaksha was.

यक्ष ने उनके आगे वही एक तिनका रखा, और कहा इसको उड़ा कर दिखाओ। वायुदेव अपने पूरे वेग से उसके तिनके के पास पहुंचे, परन्तु उस तिनके को उड़ा नहीं सके। तब वह वहीं से लौट पड़े और देवताओं से बोले कि - मैं इसको नहीं जान सका जो यह यक्ष है।
