मन्दस्य दशां प्राप्य प्रथितो धीमाननेकशास्त्रज्ञः। वृन्दग्रामपुराणां नेता पितृतोऽधिको विधिज्ञश्च॥१॥
During the advent of Saturn's Dasa, one attains fame and becomes intelligent. He will study several Sastras. He will become the leader of a group, head of a village or town, attain to a greater position than that of his father. He will have studied all the rituals.

गजतुरगगोधनाद्यैः सम्पन्नो ज्ञातितो धनप्राप्तिः। द्विजदेवपूजितात्मा पुराणभवनाश्रितोऽल्पसन्तुष्टः॥२॥
He will have at his command elephants, horses, cows, etc. He will get money from his Dayadas. He will worship Brahmins and Gods: He will live in a house built very long before. He will be content with whatever little he gets.

निद्रालस्यश्रमवान् स्वजनद्वेष्यो जराङ्गनासक्तः। धर्मप्रियो विनीतो देवायतनक्रियार्चनादिरतः॥३॥
He will be drowsy and weary, hated by his own people and addicted to old women. He will be a friend of the virtuous, humble in disposition, and engaged in works relating to Gods, temples, etc.

वातकफाद्यैः पीडा विकलाङ्गो जायते कृशाङ्गो वा। सामान्यमेतदुक्तं राशौ प्रत्येकमंशकैर्वक्ष्ये॥४॥
He will suffer from windy and phlegmatic complaints, will be defective of some limb or lean in body. The above description is only too general. I shall give below the effects in each Rasi by the Navamsas.

मन्ददशायां मेषे प्रवासनिरतोऽस्वतन्त्रवृत्तिश्च। पादादिचर्मरोगी मायावी भ्रातृबन्धुरहितश्च॥५॥
When Saturn is in Mesha and his Dasa is in progress, he will be absent and working under others. He will suffer from skin-disease from head to foot. He is deceitful in nature and is bereft of brothers or other near relations.
