This process of nadi purification is done in two ways. One is Samanu and the other is Nirmanu. Practicing Nadi Shuddhi with Beeja Mantra is called Samanu and doing it without Mantra i.e. through Dhautikarma is called Nirmanu.

यह नाड़ी शुद्धि की प्रक्रिया दो प्रकार से की जाती है । एक समनु तथा दूसरी निर्मनु । नाड़ी शुद्धि का अभ्यास बीजमन्त्र के साथ करने को समनु कहते हैं और बिना मन्त्र के अर्थात् धौतिकर्म के द्वारा करने को निर्मनु कहते हैं ।
