अथात: सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि प्रत्याहारकमुत्तमम् । यस्य विज्ञानमात्रेण कामादिरिपुनाशनम् ॥‌४-१॥

After this (after the postures) I will now talk about pratyahara. Just by knowing whose knowledge (only by knowing) the enemies like lust etc. are destroyed.

english translation

इसके बाद ( मुद्राओं के बाद ) अब मैं प्रत्याहार के विषय में कहता हूँ । जिसके ज्ञान को जानने मात्र से ही ( केवल जानने से ही ) काम वासना आदि शत्रु नष्ट हो जाते हैं।
