अथ मातङ्गिनीमुद्राकथनम् । कण्ठमग्ने जले स्थित्वा नासाभ्यां जलमाहरेत् । मुखान्निर्गमयेत्पश्चात्पुनर्वक्त्रेण चाऽऽहरेत् ॥३-८८॥
One should stand in water so deep that the water reaches the throat. After this, drink water from both the nostrils and expel it through the mouth.

इतने गहरे पानी में खड़े होना चाहिए जिससे कि पानी कण्ठ अर्थात् गले तक आ जाए । इसके बाद दोनों नासिका छिद्रों से पानी को पीकर उसे मुहँ द्वारा बाहर निकाल दें ।
