तर्जनीमध्यमान्तानां अङ्गुलित्रययोगत: । वेशयेद् गलमध्ये तु मार्जयेल्लम्बिका जडम् । शनै: शनैर्मार्जयित्वा कफदोषं निवारयेत् ॥१-३०॥
By joining the index (first finger), middle finger (second, largest or middle finger) and ring finger (third finger or ring finger) fingers together, gently rub the base of the tongue located in the middle of the throat and remove the feces on the tongue. तर्जनी ( पहली अँगुली ), मध्यमा ( दूसरी, सबसे बड़ी या बीच वाली अँगुली ) और अनामिका ( तीसरी अँगुली या रिंग फिंगर ) अँगुलियों को एकसाथ मिलाकर गले के बीच में स्थित जिह्वा के मूलभाग को धीरे- धीरे से रगड़ते हुए जीभ पर लगे मल ( गन्दगी ) को साफ करना चाहिए । इस प्रकार जीभ को शुद्ध करने से कफ विकार भी समाप्त होते हैं ।
