The power of a king lies in his mighty arms. The power of a Brahmin lies in the knowledge of his form. A woman's power lies in her beauty, youth and sweet words.

नात्यन्तं सरलैर्भाव्यं गत्वा पश्य वनस्थलीम् । छिद्यन्ते सरलास्तत्र कुब्जास्तिष्ठन्ति पादपाः II१२II
One should not be extremely straightforward in nature. If you go to the forest and see, you will find that the trees that grew straight have been cut down and the trees that grew sideways are standing.

अत्यंत सीधे स्वाभाव से नहीं रहना चाहिए। आप यदि वन जाकर देखें तो पायेंगे की जो पेड़ सीधे उगे उन्हें काट लिया गया और जो पेड़ आड़े तिरछे उगे वो खड़े हैं।

यत्रोदकं तत्र वसन्ति हंसा स्तथैव शुष्क परिवर्जयन्ति । न हंसतुल्येन नरेण भाव्यं पुनस्त्यजन्तः पुनराश्रयन्ते ॥१३II
Swans live where there is water, when the water dries up they leave that place. A male should not be like a swan, taking shelter again and again and leaving it again and again.

हंस वहाँ रहते है जहाँ पानी होता है, पानी सूखने पर हंस उस जगह को छोड़ देते है। नर को हंस के सामान बार बार आश्रय लेने वाला और बार बार छोड़ देने वाला नहीं रहना चाहिए।

उपार्जितानां वित्तानां त्याग एव हि रक्षणम् । तडागोदरसंस्थानां परवाह इवाम्भसाम् II१४II
Spending the accumulated wealth is its protection. For example, a pond can be saved only by removing its stagnant water.
