अर्थनाशं मनस्तापं गृहे दुरितानि च । वञ्चनं चापमानं च मतिमान्न प्रकाशयेत् ॥१॥
An intelligent person should not tell these things to anyone, his wealth has been destroyed. He is angry, his wife has misbehaved, people have abused him and he has been insulted.

एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति को यह बातें किसी को नहीं बतानी चाहियें उसके धन का नाश हो गया है. उसे क्रोध आ गया है, उसकी पत्नी ने गलत व्यवहार किया है लोगो ने उसे अपशब्द कहे तथा उसका अपमान हुआ है।

धनधान्यप्रयोगेषु विद्यासङ्ग्रहणे तथा । आहारे व्यवहारे च त्यक्तलज्जः सुखी भवेत् ॥२॥
The person who does not shy away from financial dealings, acquiring knowledge, eating and doing business becomes happy.

जो व्यक्ति आर्थिक व्यवहार करने में, ज्ञान अर्जन करने में, खाने में और काम-धंदा करने में शर्माता नहीं है वो सुखी हो जाता है I

Those who are satisfied with the nectar of contentment experience happiness and peace. But those who are greedy for money and keep wandering here and there under the influence of greed do not experience happiness and peace.

संतोष रूपी अमृत से जो लोग तृप्त है उन्हें सुख और शांति का अनुभव होता है। परन्तु धन के लोभी जो लोभ के वश में होकर जहाँ तहाँ भटकते रहते हैं उन्हें सुख और शांति का अनुभव नहीं होता I

सन्तोषस्त्रिषु कर्तव्यः स्वदारे भोजने धने । त्रिषु चैव न कर्तव्योऽध्ययने जपदानयोः ॥४II
A person should always be satisfied with all these things, food and money. But a person needs these things through knowledge, practice, chanting of God's name and charity.

व्यक्ति इन सब चीजों से सदा संतुष्ट रहना चाहिए भोजन और धन । परन्तु व्यक्ति को इन वस्तुओं विद्या अभ्यास, भगवान् नाम का जप तथा दान ।

One should not pass through two Brahmins, the Brahmin and the fire burning in his yagya, the husband and wife, the master and his servant, the plow and the ox.

दो ब्राह्मण, ब्राह्मण और उसके यज्ञ में जलने वाली अग्नि, पति पत्नी, स्वामी और उसका चाकर, हल और बैल, इन सबके मध्य से होकर नहीं जाना चाहिए।
