आप्त॒द्वेषाद्भवेन्मृत्युः पर॒द्वेषाद्धनक्षयः । राजद्वेषाद्भवेन्नाशो ब्रह्मद्वेषात्कुलक्षयः ॥११॥

sanskrit

One dies due to hatred of elders. Due to opposition from the enemy, wealth is lost, due to the hatred of the king, food is destroyed and due to the hatred of a Brahmin, the family is destroyed.

english translation

बड़ों के द्वेष से जान जाती है। शत्रु से विरोध करने पर धन जाता है, राजा के द्वेष से अन्न का नाश होता है तथा ब्राह्मण के द्वेष से कुल का नाश जाता है।

वरं वनं व्याघ्रगजेन्द्रसेवितं द्वमालयं पत्रफलाम्बुसेवनम् । तृणेषु शय्या शतजीर्णवल्कलं न बन्धुमध्ये धनहीनजीवनम् ॥१२॥

sanskrit

It is better that you live under a tree in the forest, where tigers and elephants live, eat fruits and have refreshments, sleep on the grass and wear the shells of old trees. But never live among your relatives if you have become poor.

english translation

यह बेहतर है की आप जंगल में एक पेड़ के नीचे रहे, जहाँ बाघ और हाथी रहते है, उस जगह रहकर आप फल खाएं और जलपान करे, आप घास पर सोये और पुराने पेड़ो की खाले पहने। परन्तु कभी अपने सगे संबंधियों में ना रहें यदि आप निर्धन हो गए है।

विप्रो वृक्षस्तस्य मूलं च सन्ध्या वेदः शाखा धर्मकर्माणि पत्रम् । तस्मान्मूलं यत्नतो रक्षणीयं छिन्ने मूले नैव शाखा न पत्रम् ॥१३॥

sanskrit

Brahmin is like a tree, his prayer is his root. The singing of the Vedas are its branches, religion and karma are its leaves. For this reason, the root should be protected with utmost care, because if the root is destroyed, neither branches nor leaves will remain.

english translation

ब्राह्मण एक वृक्ष के समान है, उसकी प्रार्थना ही उसका मूल है. वेदों का गान ही उसकी शाखाएं हैं, धर्म और कर्म पत्ते हैं। इस कारण अंत्यंत सावधानी से जड़ की रक्षा करनी चाहिए, क्योंकि जड़ के नष्ट हो जाने पर न शाखायें रहेंगी और न ही पत्ते ।

vipro vRkSastasya mUlaM ca sandhyA vedaH zAkhA dharmakarmANi patram | tasmAnmUlaM yatnato rakSaNIyaM chinne mUle naiva zAkhA na patram ||13||

माता च कमला देवी पिता देवो जनार्दनः । बान्धवा विष्णुभक्ताश्च स्वदेशो भुवनत्रयम् ॥१४॥

To whom Lakshmi is his mother, Lord Vishnu is his father, and Vishnu devotees are his relatives, to him all the three worlds are like his homeland.

english translation

लक्ष्मी जिनकी माता हैं, विष्णु भगवान पिता है, और विष्णु भक्त सगे सम्बन्धी हैं, उसको तीनो लोक भी स्वदेश के समान हैं।

एकवृक्षसमारूढा नानावर्णा विहंगमाः । प्रातर्दश दिशो यान्ति का तत्र परिदेवना ॥१५॥

Many types of birds rest on trees at night and in the morning all the birds fly away in ten directions. That is, we should not fear separation from our loved ones.

english translation

रात्रि के समय कितने ही प्रकार के पंछी वृक्ष पर विश्राम करते है और सुबह होने पर सभी पंछी दसों दिशाओं में उड़ जाते है। अर्थात हमें अपनों से बिछुड़ने का धोक नहीं करना चाहिए ।
