आग्नेयदिग्लग्नमुहूर्तदेशेष्व् अर्कप्रदीप्तो अग्निभयाय रौति । विष्ट्यां यमऋक्षौदयकण्टकेषु निष्पत्रवल्लीषु च दोषकृत् स्यात् ॥ ९६-०६ ॥
Ominous cries occurring in the direction, rising sign, Muhūrtas and places appropriate to fire and when the Sun is dīpta (malefic) point to injury by fire. Ominous cries of a malefic character occurring in thorns and leafless creepers when the karaṇa at the time is Bhadra and when the rising sign is either Capricorn or Aquarius, point to thieves.

AgneyadiglagnamuhUrtadezeSv arkapradIpto agnibhayAya rauti । viSTyAM yamaRkSaudayakaNTakeSu niSpatravallISu ca doSakRt syAt ॥ 96-06 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptग्राम्यः प्रदीप्तः स्वरचेष्टिताभ्याम् उग्रो रुवन्कण्टकिनि स्थितश्च । भौमऋक्षलग्ने यदि नैरृतीं च स्थितो अभितश्चेत्कलहाय दृष्टः ॥ ९६-०७ ॥
If the creatures of the village, malefic in character and in their tone and motion, be found to cry from thorny trees and an cither side of the south-western quarter when the rising sign is either Aries or Scorpio, there will be quarrels.
english translation
grAmyaH pradIptaH svaraceSTitAbhyAm ugro ruvankaNTakini sthitazca । bhaumaRkSalagne yadi nairRtIM ca sthito abhitazcetkalahAya dRSTaH ॥ 96-07 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptलग्ने अथ वाइन्दोर्भृगुभांशसंस्थे विदिक्स्थितो अधोवदनश्च रौति । दीप्तः स चेत्संग्रहणं करोति योन्या तया या विदिशि प्रदिष्टा ॥ ९६-०८ ॥
If creatures, malefic in character, be found to cry with their necks bent to the ground and from one of the four corners when the rising sign is Cancer or when the rising sign or Navāṃśa is either Taurus or Libra, there will be a meeting with a woman and the woman will be one of the class belonging to the particular corner.

lagne atha vAindorbhRgubhAMzasaMsthe vidiksthito adhovadanazca rauti । dIptaH sa cetsaMgrahaNaM karoti yonyA tayA yA vidizi pradiSTA ॥ 96-08 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुंराशिलग्ने विषमे तिथौ च दिक्स्थः प्रदीप्तः शुकुनो नरऽख्यः । वाच्यं तदा संग्रहणं नराणां मिश्रे भवेत्पण्डकसम्प्रयोगः ॥ ९६-०९ ॥
If the omen occur in an odd lunar day, in one of the prime quarters, and when the rising sign is a malefic one and if the creature be of the male kind, there will be a meeting with a man and if the omen be of the hermaphrodite kind, there will be a meeting with a hermaphrodite.
english translation
puMrAzilagne viSame tithau ca diksthaH pradIptaH zukuno nara'khyaH । vAcyaM tadA saMgrahaNaM narANAM mizre bhavetpaNDakasamprayogaH ॥ 96-09 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं रवेः क्षेत्रनवांशलग्ने लग्ने स्थिते वा स्वयं एव सूर्ये । दीप्तो अभिधत्ते शकुनो विरौति पुंसः प्रधानस्य हि कारणं तत् ॥ ९६-१० ॥
If the omen be malefic in character and occur when Leo is the rising sign or Navāṃśa or when the Sun occupies the rising sign, the chief person will proceed on a journey to foreign lands.

evaM raveH kSetranavAMzalagne lagne sthite vA svayaM eva sUrye । dIpto abhidhatte zakuno virauti puMsaH pradhAnasya hi kAraNaM tat ॥ 96-10 ॥
