ग्रामे भषित्वा च बहिः श्मशाने भषन्ति चेदुत्तमपुंविनाशः । यियासतश्चाभिमुखो विरौति यदा तदा श्वा निरुणद्धि यात्राम् ॥ ८९-१४ ॥

If the dog be seen to bark first in the village and then in the village cremation ground, the chief person of the village will die and if it be seen to bark towards a traveller, it stops his journey.
