श्रीकर्णरुतं तु दक्षिणे क्वक्वक्वैति शुभं प्रकीर्तितम् । मध्यं खलु चिक्चिकिइति यच् शेषं सर्वं उशन्ति निष्फलम् ॥ ८८-२७ ॥
If the Śrīkarṇa be heard to sound as kvakva on the left side, it indicates good luck; but if the cry be cikcik the effects will be indifferent; if otherwise, the sound signifies nothing.
