लोमाशिका पिङ्गलच्छिप्पिकाआख्यौ वल्गुलीउलूकौ शशकश्च रात्रौ । सर्वे स्वकालौत्क्रमचारिणः स्युर् देशस्य नाशाय नृपान्तदा वा ॥ ८८-०२ ॥
The jackal, the Piṅgala, the Chippikā, the flying fox, the owl and the hare are night birds and animals. If the day birds be found to move at night or if the night birds be found to move by day, either the country will suffer or the king will meet with ruin.
