ऐशाने व्रतयुक्ता वनिता सन्दर्शनं समुपयाति । लब्धिश्च परिज्ञेया कृष्णायःशस्त्र घण्टानाम् ॥ ८७-२६ ॥

If the omen be the cry of a creature in the north-eastern spoke, there will be a meeting with a female devotee and the gain of iron, clothes and bells.

aizAne vratayuktA vanitA sandarzanaM samupayAti । labdhizca parijJeyA kRSNAyaHzastra ghaNTAnAm ॥ 87-26 ॥

याम्ये अष्टांशे पश्चाद्द्विषट्त्रिसप्ताष्टमेषु मध्यफला । सौम्येन च द्वितीये शेषेष्वतिशोभना यात्रा ॥ ८७-२७ ॥

Omens occurring in the eight quarters on the south, in the 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 8th quarters on the west and in the 2nd quarter on the north are not favourable for journey, Omens occurring in the other quarters are auspicious for the purpose.

yAmye aSTAMze pazcAddviSaTtrisaptASTameSu madhyaphalA । saumyena ca dvitIye zeSeSvatizobhanA yAtrA ॥ 87-27 ॥

अभ्यन्तरे तु नाभ्यां शुभफलदा भवति षट्सु चारेषु । वायव्यानैरृतयोररयोः क्लेशावहा यात्रा ॥ ८७-२८ ॥

Inside the circle, omens appearing in the south-western and north-western spokes are not favourable for journey; and those appearing in the other spokes and in the centre are auspicious for the purpose.

abhyantare tu nAbhyAM zubhaphaladA bhavati SaTsu cAreSu । vAyavyAnairRtayorarayoH klezAvahA yAtrA ॥ 87-28 ॥

शान्तासु दिक्षु फलं इदं उक्तं दीप्तास्वतो अभिधास्यामि । ऐन्द्र्यां भयं नरेन्द्रात्समागमश्चएव शात्रूणाम् ॥ ८७-२९ ॥

We have till now been describing the effects of omens in the several quarters when they happen to be benefic and we shall now proceed to describe the effects of omens in the same quarters when they are malefic. If the omen occur due east, there will be fear from the king and a meeting with the enemy.

zAntAsu dikSu phalaM idaM uktaM dIptAsvato abhidhAsyAmi । aindryAM bhayaM narendrAtsamAgamazcaeva zAtrUNAm ॥ 87-29 ॥

तदनन्तरदिशि नाशः कनकस्य भयं सुवर्णकाराणाम् । अर्थक्षयस्तृतीये कलहः शस्त्रप्रकोपश्च ॥ ८७-३० ॥

If the omen occurs in the 2nd malefic quarter, there will be injury to gold and suffering to goldsmiths; if in the 3rd malefic quarter, there will be loss of wealth, quarrel and fight.

tadanantaradizi nAzaH kanakasya bhayaM suvarNakArANAm । arthakSayastRtIye kalahaH zastraprakopazca ॥ 87-30 ॥
