अज्ञातपूर्वाणि न दन्तकाष्ठान्य् अद्यान्न पत्रैश्च समन्वितानि । न युग्मपर्वाणि न पाटितानि न चऊर्ध्वशुष्काणि विना त्वचा च ॥ ८५-०२ ॥

Twigs of unknown trees shall be rejected, and twigs with leaves, those of an even number of joints, those which are split or dry at the ends and those with no bark ought not to be chewed.
