आद्यो अङ्गिराः श्रीमुखभावसाआह्वौ युवा सुधातेति युगे द्वितीये । वर्षाणि पञ्चएव यथाक्रमेण त्रीण्यत्र शस्तानि समे परे द्वे ॥ ८-३१ ॥
The five years of the second yuga are known as—1. Aṅgirā, 2. Śrīmukha 3. Bhāva, 4. Yuvā and 5. Dhātā. Of these, during the first three years mankind will enjoy happiness and during the last two they will not enjoy much of it.

त्रिष्व् आद्यवर्षेषु निकामवर्षी देवी निरातङ्क भयश् च लोकः । अब्दद्वये अन्त्ये अपि समा सुवृष्टिः किन्त्वत्र रोगाः समरऽगमश्च ॥ ८-३२ ॥
In the first three of the above five years there will be abundance of rain and mankind will be freed from fears and anxieties; in the last two years the rainfall will be moderate but disease and wars will afflict mankind.

शाक्रे युगे पूर्वं अथईश्वरऽख्यं वर्षं द्वितीयं बहुधान्यं आहुः । प्रमाथिनं विक्रमं अप्य् अथान्यद् वृषं च विन्द्याद्गुरुचारयोगात् ॥ ८-३३ ॥
In the Śākra cycle, they say the first year is called Īśvara; the second is Bahudhānya. Then follow Pramāthin and Vikrama, and thereafter Vṛṣa, determined according to the motion of Jupiter.
english translation
आद्यं द्वितीयं च शुभे तु वर्षे कृतानुकारं कुरुतः प्रजानाम् । पापः प्रमाथी वृषविक्रमौ तु सुभिक्षदौ रोगभयप्रदौ च ॥ ८-३४ ॥
The first and the second years are auspicious and bring prosperity to the people. Pramāthin is inauspicious; Vṛṣa and Vikrama, however, give good harvests but also cause fear of disease.

श्रेष्ठं च चतुर्थस्य युगस्य पूर्वं यच्चित्रभानुं कथयन्ति वर्षम् । मध्यं द्वितीयं तु सुभानुसञ्ज्ञं रोगप्रदं मृत्युकरं न तं च॥ ८-३५ ॥
The first year of the fourth yuga is known as Citrabhānu; in it mankind will be happy. The second is known as Subhānu. In it mankind will be neither happy nor miserable; there will however be disease in the land but no deaths in consequence.
