वृष्टिः समाद्ये प्रमुखे द्वितीये प्रभूततोया कथिता तृतीये । पश्चाज्जलं मुञ्चति यच्चतुर्थं स्वल्पौदकं पञ्चमं अब्दं उक्तम् ॥ ८-२५ ॥

Generally in every yuga, there will be good rain in the first year and at the beginning of the second year; excessive rain in the third year; moderate rain at the end (of the rainy season) of the fourth year; and slight rain in the fifth year.

english translation

vRSTiH samAdye pramukhe dvitIye prabhUtatoyA kathitA tRtIye । pazcAjjalaM muJcati yaccaturthaM svalpaudakaM paJcamaM abdaM uktam ॥ 8-25 ॥
