अङ्गुष्टमूले प्रसवस्य रेखाः पुत्रा बृहत्यः प्रमदास्तु तन्व्यः । अच्छिन्नमध्या बृहदायुषस् ताः स्वल्पऽयुषां छिन्नलघुप्रमाणाः ॥ ७०-१४ ॥
The big lines below the root of the thumb indicate sons and the small lines daughters. If the lines be perfect, the children will live long, and if broken or short they will die early.
