अष्टाङ्गुलं ललाटं विस्ताराद्द्व्यङ्गुलात्परे शङ्खौ । चतुरङ्गुलौ तु शङ्खौ कर्णौ तु द्व्यङ्गुलौ पृथुलौ ॥ ५८-०६ ॥

The forehead shall be 8 digits long; 2 digits from it are the frontal bones which shall be 4 digits, and the ear shall be 2 digits broad.

कर्णौपान्तः कार्यो अर्धपञ्चमे भ्रूसमेन सूत्रेण । कर्णस्रोतः सुकुमारकं च नेत्र प्रबन्धसमम् ॥ ५८-०७ ॥

The space between the ear and the eyebrows shall be four digits and a half and the lobes of the ear shall be well formed.

चतुरङ्गुलं वसिष्ठः कथयति नेत्रान्तकर्णयोर्विवरम् । अधरो अङ्गुलप्रमाणस्तस्यार्धेनौत्त्रोष्ठश्च ॥ ५८-०८ ॥

According to Vasiṣṭha the interval between the end of the eye and the ear shall be 4 digits; the lower lip shall be a digit broad and the upper one shall be one-half the size of the lower.

अर्धाङ्गुला तु गोच्छा वक्त्रं चतुरङ्गुलऽयतं कार्यम् । विपुलं तु सार्धं अङ्गुलं अव्यात्तं त्र्यङ्गुलं व्यात्तम् ॥ ५८-०९ ॥

The Gocchā (dimple above the lip) shall be half a digit; the mouth shall be 4 digits long; the breadth of the mouth when open shall be 3 digits, and the opening shall be a digit and a half

द्व्यङ्गुलतुल्यौ नासापुटौ च नासा पुटाअग्रतो ज्ञेया । स्याद्द्व्यङ्गुलं उच्छ्रायश्चतुरङ्गुलं अन्तरं चाक्ष्णोः ॥ ५८-१० ॥

The nose shall be two digits broad; the sense of smell is at the tip of the nose; the nose shall be two digits high; the interval between the eye and the tip of the nose shall be four digits.
