Brihat Samhita
मध्ये पापग्रहयोः सूर्यः सस्यं विनाशयत्यलिगः । पापः सप्तमराशौ जातं जातं विनाशयति ॥ ४०-०८ ॥
If, when the Sun is in scorpio, there should be malefic planets on both sides, crops will be injured, and if a malefic planet should occupy the seventh house, Taurus, crops will suffer blight.

madhye pApagrahayoH sUryaH sasyaM vinAzayatyaligaH । pApaH saptamarAzau jAtaM jAtaM vinAzayati ॥ 40-08 ॥
