उदगादि पुरोहितनृपबलपतियुवराजदोषदं खपुरम् । सितरक्तपीतकृष्णं विप्रऽदीनां अभावाय ॥ ३६-०१ ॥
If the appearance of Gandharvanagara should be seen in the north, priests will suffer; if in the east, rulers will suffer; if in the south, commanders of armies will suffer, and if in the west, the first prince will suffer. If the appearance should be white, the Brāhmaṇas will suffer; if red, the Kṣatriyas; if yellow, the Vaiśyas; and if black, the Śūdras will suffer.

udagAdi purohitanRpabalapatiyuvarAjadoSadaM khapuram । sitaraktapItakRSNaM vipra'dInAM abhAvAya ॥ 36-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनागरनृपतिजयऽवहं उदग्विदिक्स्थं विवर्णनाशाय । शान्तऽशायां दृष्टं सतोरणं नृपतिविजयाय ॥ ३६-०२ ॥
If the appearance should be seen in the north citizens and rulers will suffer; if seen in the corners, the mixed races will suffer; and if seen in the direction opposite to the Sun, rulers will triumph in war.
english translation
nAgaranRpatijaya'vahaM udagvidiksthaM vivarNanAzAya । zAnta'zAyAM dRSTaM satoraNaM nRpativijayAya ॥ 36-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्वदिगुत्थं सततोथितं च भयदं नरेन्द्रराष्ट्राणाम् । चौराटविकान्हन्याद्धूमानलशक्रचापऽभम् ॥ ३६-०३ ॥
If the appearance should be seen in all directions and for a long time, princes and countries will suffer; if it should be of the colour of smoke, fire or rainbow, thieves and forest-men will suffer.

sarvadigutthaM satatothitaM ca bhayadaM narendrarASTrANAm । caurATavikAnhanyAddhUmAnalazakracApa'bham ॥ 36-03 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगन्धर्वनगरं उत्थितं आपाण्डुरं अशनिपातवातकरम् । दीप्ते नरेन्द्रमृत्युर्वामे अरिभयं जयः सव्ये ॥ ३६-०४ ॥
If the appearance should be seen a little white, there will be suffering from thunderbolts and from storms; if in the direction of the Sun, the chief ruler will perish; if seen on the left side, there will be fear from enemies, and if on the right side there will be success in war.

gandharvanagaraM utthitaM ApANDuraM azanipAtavAtakaram । dIpte narendramRtyurvAme aribhayaM jayaH savye ॥ 36-04 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनेकवर्णऽकृति खे प्रकाशते पुरं पताकाध्वजतोरणान्वितम् । यदा तदा नागमनुष्यवाजिनां पिबत्यसृग्भूरि रणे वसुन्धरा ॥ ३६-०५ ॥
If it should appear of various hues and shapes or of the shape of a flag, banner or archway, such bloody wars will rage over the land that the earth will drink large quantities of the blood of elephants, men and horses.

anekavarNa'kRti khe prakAzate puraM patAkAdhvajatoraNAnvitam । yadA tadA nAgamanuSyavAjinAM pibatyasRgbhUri raNe vasundharA ॥ 36-05 ॥
