आशाग्रहौपघाते तद्देश्यानां खले कृषिरतानाम् । चैत्यतरौ सम्पतिता सत्कृतपीडां करोत्युल्का ॥ ३३-२१ ॥
If it should be seen to fall crossing the discs of the direction planets the countries situated in the respective directions will suffer; if on threshing floor, farmers will suffer; and if on the sacred trees planted in public places, virtuous men will suffer.
english translation
AzAgrahaupaghAte taddezyAnAM khale kRSiratAnAm । caityatarau sampatitA satkRtapIDAM karotyulkA ॥ 33-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptद्वारि पुरस्य पुरक्षयं अथैन्द्रकीले जनक्षयो अभिहितः । ब्रह्मऽयतने विप्रान्विनिहन्याद्गोमिनो गोष्ठे ॥ ३३-२२ ॥
If it should fall at the entrance to towns, the towns will suffer; if on ornamental structures over buildings, the people will suffer; if in the middle of Brāhmaṇa habitations, the Brāhmaṇas will suffer; and if in cattle-fold, the owner of the herd will suffer.
english translation
dvAri purasya purakSayaM athaindrakIle janakSayo abhihitaH । brahma'yatane viprAnvinihanyAdgomino goSThe ॥ 33-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptक्ष्वेडाआस्फोटितवादितगीतौत्कुष्टस्वना भवन्ति यदा । उल्कानिपातसमये भयाय राष्ट्रस्य सनृपस्य ॥ ३३-२३ ॥
If, while it falls, its noise should be like the roar of the lion, like the sound caused by striming against one’s breast or like a combination of vocal and instrumental music, the rulers with their countries will suffer.
english translation
kSveDAAsphoTitavAditagItautkuSTasvanA bhavanti yadA । ulkAnipAtasamaye bhayAya rASTrasya sanRpasya ॥ 33-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयस्याश्चिरं तिष्ठति खे अनुषङ्गो दण्डाकृतिः सा नृपतेर्भयाय । या चौह्यते तन्तुधृताइव खस्था या वा महेन्द्रध्वजतुल्यरूपा ॥ ३३-२४ ॥
If the meteoric appearance should be seen to hover in the sky for a long time, of the shape of a stick, or if it should be seen of the shape of Indra’s banner suspended in the sky as if by threads, rulers will suffer.
english translation
yasyAzciraM tiSThati khe anuSaGgo daNDAkRtiH sA nRpaterbhayAya । yA cauhyate tantudhRtAiva khasthA yA vA mahendradhvajatulyarUpA ॥ 33-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptश्रेष्ठिनः प्रतीपगा तिर्यगा नृपाङ्गनानाम् । हन्त्यधोमुखी नृपान्ब्राह्मणानथऊर्ध्वगा ॥ ३३-२५ ॥
If while it falls it should retrograde in its motion, merchants will suffer; if it should move horizontally, queens will suffer; if vertically downwards, rulers will suffer; and if vertically upwards, the Brāhmaṇas will suffer.
