नरपतिरिमं अर्घं श्रद्दधानो दधानः प्रविगतगददोषो निर्जितारातिपक्षः । भवति यदि च दद्यात्सप्त वर्षाणि सम्यग् जलनिधि रशनायाः स्वामितां याति भूमेः ॥ १२-१७ ॥

A prince making this offering, with a truly devout spirit, on every occasion of the reappearance of the star Canopus for 7 years will be freed from disease, will triumph over his enemies and will become the sole ruler of the Earth.
