कालोद्भवैः सुरभिभिः कुसुमैः फलैश्च रत्नैश्च सागरभवैः कनकाम्बरैश्च । धेन्वा वृषेण परमान्नयुतैश्च भक्ष्यैर् दध्यक्षतैः सुरभिधूपविलेपनैश्च ॥ १२-१६ ॥
The offering to be made by princes in honour of Agastya shall consist of the fragrant flowers of the season, of fruits, of precious stones, of gold cloths, of cows, of bulls, of well-cooked rice, of sweet-meats, of curdled milk, of coloured rice, of perfumed smoke and fragrant paste.

kAlodbhavaiH surabhibhiH kusumaiH phalaizca ratnaizca sAgarabhavaiH kanakAmbaraizca । dhenvA vRSeNa paramAnnayutaizca bhakSyair dadhyakSataiH surabhidhUpavilepanaizca ॥ 12-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनरपतिरिमं अर्घं श्रद्दधानो दधानः प्रविगतगददोषो निर्जितारातिपक्षः । भवति यदि च दद्यात्सप्त वर्षाणि सम्यग् जलनिधि रशनायाः स्वामितां याति भूमेः ॥ १२-१७ ॥
A prince making this offering, with a truly devout spirit, on every occasion of the reappearance of the star Canopus for 7 years will be freed from disease, will triumph over his enemies and will become the sole ruler of the Earth.
english translation
narapatirimaM arghaM zraddadhAno dadhAnaH pravigatagadadoSo nirjitArAtipakSaH । bhavati yadi ca dadyAtsapta varSANi samyag jalanidhi razanAyAH svAmitAM yAti bhUmeH ॥ 12-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptद्विजो यथालाभं उपाहृतार्घः प्राप्नोति वेदान्प्रमदाश्च पुत्रान् । वैश्यश्च गां भूरि घनं च शूद्रो रोगक्षयं धर्मफलं च सर्वे ॥ १२-१८ ॥
A Brāhmaṇa making this offering to the extent of his ability will become learned in the Vedas and will be blessed with a wife and children; a Vaiśya doing the same will get cows; and a Śūdra doing it will get wealth, and all the four will be freed from disease and become virtuous.
english translation
dvijo yathAlAbhaM upAhRtArghaH prApnoti vedAnpramadAzca putrAn । vaizyazca gAM bhUri ghanaM ca zUdro rogakSayaM dharmaphalaM ca sarve ॥ 12-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरोगान्करोति परुषः कपिलस्त्ववृष्टिं धूम्रो गवां अशुभकृत्स्फुरणो भयाय । माञ्जिष्ठरागसदृशः क्षुधं आहवांश्च कुर्यादणुश्च पुररोधं अगस्त्यनामा ॥ १२-१९ ॥
If the disc of the star Canopus should present a disagreeable appearance, there will be disease in the land; if yellow, there will be drought; if of the colour of smoke, cows will suffer; if of unsteady light, mankind will be afflicted with fears; if white red, they will suffer from hunger and from starvation; and if of very small disc, the chief towns will be surrounded by the enemy.

rogAnkaroti paruSaH kapilastvavRSTiM dhUmro gavAM azubhakRtsphuraNo bhayAya । mAJjiSTharAgasadRzaH kSudhaM AhavAMzca kuryAdaNuzca purarodhaM agastyanAmA ॥ 12-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशातकुम्भसदृशः स्फटिकाभस्तर्पयन्निव महीं किरणाग्रैः । दृश्यते यदि तदा प्रचुरान्ना भूर्भवत्यभयरोगजनऽढ्या ॥ १२-२० ॥
If Canopus (Agastya) should appear of the colour of silver or crystal, or brilliant, there will be prosperity in the land and mankind will be free from fear and disease.

zAtakumbhasadRzaH sphaTikAbhastarpayanniva mahIM kiraNAgraiH । dRzyate yadi tadA pracurAnnA bhUrbhavatyabhayarogajana'DhyA ॥ 12-20 ॥
