आवर्त इति निशार्धे सव्यशिखो अरुणनिभो अपरे स्निग्धः । यावत्क्षणान्स दृश्यस्तावन्मासान्सुभिक्षकरः ॥ ११-५० ॥

Āvarta Ketu is a comet of red colour; it appears in the west at mid-night with its tail pointing to the south and it is glossy. There will be happiness in the land for as many months as the number of kṣaṇas (four minutes) for which it continues to be visible.

english translation

Avarta iti nizArdhe savyazikho aruNanibho apare snigdhaH । yAvatkSaNAnsa dRzyastAvanmAsAnsubhikSakaraH ॥ 11-50 ॥
