जलकेतुरपि च पश्चात्स्निग्धः शिखयापरेण चौन्नतया । नव मासान्स सुभिक्षं करोति शान्तिं च लोकस्य ॥ ११-४६ ॥
Jala Ketu is a comet which appears in the west with a raised tail; it is glossy, when it appears there will be prosperity in the land for 9 months, and the world will be freed from all miseries.
english translation
jalaketurapi ca pazcAtsnigdhaH zikhayApareNa caunnatayA । nava mAsAnsa subhikSaM karoti zAntiM ca lokasya ॥ 11-46 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभवकेतुरेकरात्रं दृश्यः प्राक्सूक्ष्मतारकः स्निग्धः । हरिलाङ्गूलौपमया प्रदक्षिणावर्तया शिखया ॥ ११-४७ ॥
Bhava Ketu is a comet visible only for a single night and in the east, possessing a small disc; it is glossy; the tail is bent like that of a lion.
english translation
bhavaketurekarAtraM dRzyaH prAksUkSmatArakaH snigdhaH । harilAGgUlaupamayA pradakSiNAvartayA zikhayA ॥ 11-47 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयावत एव मुहूर्तान्दर्शनं आयाति निर्दिशेत्मासान् । तावदतुलं सुभिक्षं रूक्षे प्राणान्तिकान्रोगान् ॥ ११-४८ ॥
There will be unprecedented happiness in the land for as many months as the number of hours for which it continues to be visible; if it should be fearful to look at, fatal diseases will afflict mankind.
english translation
yAvata eva muhUrtAndarzanaM AyAti nirdizetmAsAn । tAvadatulaM subhikSaM rUkSe prANAntikAnrogAn ॥ 11-48 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअपरेण पद्मकेतुर्मृणालगौरो भवेन्निशां एकाम् । सप्त करोति सुभिक्षं वर्षाण्यतिहर्षयुक्तानि ॥ ११-४९ ॥
Padma Ketu is a comet white like the stem of the lotus. If it appears only for a night, there will be joy and happiness in the land for 7 years.
english translation
apareNa padmaketurmRNAlagauro bhavennizAM ekAm । sapta karoti subhikSaM varSANyatiharSayuktAni ॥ 11-49 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआवर्त इति निशार्धे सव्यशिखो अरुणनिभो अपरे स्निग्धः । यावत्क्षणान्स दृश्यस्तावन्मासान्सुभिक्षकरः ॥ ११-५० ॥
Āvarta Ketu is a comet of red colour; it appears in the west at mid-night with its tail pointing to the south and it is glossy. There will be happiness in the land for as many months as the number of kṣaṇas (four minutes) for which it continues to be visible.

Avarta iti nizArdhe savyazikho aruNanibho apare snigdhaH । yAvatkSaNAnsa dRzyastAvanmAsAnsubhikSakaraH ॥ 11-50 ॥
