श्वेत इति जटाकारो रूक्षः श्यावो वियत्त्रिभागगतः । विनिवर्तते अपसव्यं त्रिभागशेषाः प्रजाः कुरुते ॥ ११-३९ ॥

The Śveta Ketu is of the shape of the twisted hair and of a dull and disagreeable aspect; it travels through a third of the sky and then retraces its steps. When it disappears it leaves only a third of mankind as survivors.

english translation

zveta iti jaTAkAro rUkSaH zyAvo viyattribhAgagataH । vinivartate apasavyaM tribhAgazeSAH prajAH kurute ॥ 11-39 ॥
