कुम्भः कुम्भी नरो बभ्रुवर्णो मध्यतनुर्द्विपात्‌। द्युवीर्यो जलमध्यस्थो वातशीर्षोदयी तमः॥ २१॥

Kumbh described. The Rāśi Kumbh represents a man holding a pot. Its complexion is deep-brown. It has medium build and is a biped Rāśi. It is very strong in daytime. It resorts to deep water and is airy. It rises with its head and is Tamasic. It rules Sudras, the 4th Varna and the West. Its Lord is Śani, Sūrya‟s offspring.

kumbhaH kumbhI naro babhruvarNo madhyatanurdvipAt‌। dyuvIryo jalamadhyastho vAtazIrSodayI tamaH॥ 21॥

शूद्रः पश्चिमदेशस्य स्वामी दैवाकरिः स्मृतः। मीनौ पुच्छास्यसंलग्नौ मीनराशिर्दिवाबली॥ २२॥

Meen described. Meen resembles a pair of fish, one tailed with the head of the other. This Rāśi is strong at night.

english translation

zUdraH pazcimadezasya svAmI daivAkariH smRtaH। mInau pucchAsyasaMlagnau mInarAzirdivAbalI॥ 22॥

जली सत्त्वगुणाढ्यश्च स्वस्थो जलचरो द्विजः। अपदो मध्यदेही च सौम्यस्थो ह्युभयोदयी॥ २३॥

It is a watery Rāśi and is predominant with Sattva-Gun. It denotes resoluteness and is a waterresorter. It is footless and has a medium build. It rules the North and rises with both head and back.

jalI sattvaguNADhyazca svastho jalacaro dvijaH। apado madhyadehI ca saumyastho hyubhayodayI॥ 23॥

सुराचार्याधिपश्चेति राशीनां गदिता गुणाः। त्रिंशद्‌भागात्मकानां च स्थूलसूक्ष्मफलाय च॥ २४॥

It is ruled by Guru. This is how the twelve Rāśis, each of 30 degrees extent, are described to evaluate gross and specific effects.

अथातः सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणुष्व मुनिपुंगव। जन्मलग्नं च संशोध्य निषेकं परिशोधयेत्‌॥ २५॥
