जानामि सर्वथा सर्वमहमेको निरन्तरम्। निरालम्बमशून्यं च शून्यं व्योमादिपज्चकम् ॥ ४६॥

I know in every way that I am the sole Reality, all-pervasive, independent, and ever existent. The five elements-space, air, fire, water, and earth-are all unreal.

jAnAmi sarvathA sarvamahameko nirantaram| nirAlambamazUnyaM ca zUnyaM vyomAdipajcakam || 46||

न षण्ढो न पुमान्न स्त्री न बोधो नैव कल्पना। सानन्दो वा निरानन्दमात्मानं मन्यसे कथम् ॥।४७॥

The Self is neither eunuch, man, nor woman: it is neither idea nor imagination. How can you think the Self to be full of joy or joyless?

english translation

na SaNDho na pumAnna strI na bodho naiva kalpanA| sAnando vA nirAnandamAtmAnaM manyase katham |||47||

षडङ्गयोगान्न तु नैव शुद्धं मनोविनाशान्न तु नैव शुद्धम्। गुरूपदेशान्न तु नैव शुद्धं स्वयं च तत्त्वं स्वयमेव शुद्धम् ॥४८॥

The Atman cannot be purified through the practice of the six limbs of yoga, or through the annihilation of the mind, or through the instruction of a teacher. The Atman is the Reality Itself and It is Purity Itself.

SaDaGgayogAnna tu naiva zuddhaM manovinAzAnna tu naiva zuddham| gurUpadezAnna tu naiva zuddhaM svayaM ca tattvaM svayameva zuddham ||48||

न हि पञ्चात्मको देहो विदेहो वर्तते न हि। आत्मैव केवलं सर्वं तुरीयं च त्रयं कथम् ॥४९॥

The Atman neither has a body of five elements, nor is It without a body. Truly, everything is the Atman. How can the three states, and the Fourth, be ascribed to the Atman?

na hi paJcAtmako deho videho vartate na hi| Atmaiva kevalaM sarvaM turIyaM ca trayaM katham ||49||

न बद्धो नैवमुक्तोऽहं न चाहं ब्रह्मणः पृथक्। न कर्ता न च भोक्ताहं व्याप्यव्यापकवर्जितः ॥।५०॥

I am not bound, I am not, indeed, liberated -I am not different from Brahman. Neither doer nor enjoyer -I am devoid of the distinctions of the pervaded and the pervader.

na baddho naivamukto'haM na cAhaM brahmaNaH pRthak| na kartA na ca bhoktAhaM vyApyavyApakavarjitaH |||50||
