Astanga Hrudaya
तिलपिण्याकविकृतिः शुष्कशाकं विरूढकम्। शण्डाकीवटकं दृग्घ्नं दोषलं ग्लपनं गुरु ॥३४॥
EATABLES PREPARED FROM TILA (SESAMUM) Eatables prepared from Tila (sesamum), Pinyaka (residue of sesamum after the oil is taken out), dried leafy vegetables, germinated grains, shandaki vataka (balls of fried rice dried in sun and then fried in oil) are not good for eyes, increase the doshas, cause debility and are hard to digest. Hence, Ayurveda does not recommend germinated grains.
