पथ्याः समासात्ता नद्यो विपरीतास्त्वतोऽन्यथा । उपलास्फालनाक्षेपविच्छेदैः खेदितोदकाः ॥९॥

The rivers which are contrary to these qualities, their water is harmful. The rivers which originate from Himalayas and Malay mountains, their water becomes sad (sad, agitated) due to being shattered after hitting stones and rocks.

english translation

इन गुणों के विपरीत जो नदियाँ हैं, उनका जल अहितकारक होता है I हिमालय तथा मलय पर्वत से निकल कर बहने वाली वे नदियाँ जिनका जल पत्थरों तथा चट्टानों से टकराकर गिरने से छिन्न-भिन्न होने के कारण खिन्न ( दुःखी, आलोड़ित ) हो जाता है I
