मद्यं तीक्ष्णोष्णरूक्षाम्लमाशु व्यापादयेद्व्रणम्। वालोशीरैश्च वीज्येत न चैनं परिघट्टयेत्॥४१॥

Nature and quality of wick and medicinal paste applied over the ulcer: In the ulcers, the wick of cotton threads smeared with paste of herbs and also the paste of herbs should neither be too unctuous nor very dry, neither flabby (loose and thin) nor very thick (hard) and should not be improperly placed (over the ulcer).
