Astanga Hrudaya
विरेचनं बृंहणं च शमनं च त्रिधाऽपि तत्। विरेचनं शिरःशूलजाड्यस्यन्दगलामये॥२॥
Trividha Nasya – three kinds of Nasal medication:- Nasya treatment is of three kinds – 1. Virechana Nasya – purgatory 2. Brimhana Nasya – nourishing and 3. Shamana – Palliative, Virechana Nasya – It does purification. It expels the Doshas of head and neck out of the body.
