Astanga Hrudaya
ज्ञात्वा कोष्ठप्रपन्नांश्च यथासन्नं विनिर्हरेत्। स्रोतोरोधबलभ्रंशगौरवानिलमूढताः॥२३॥
They should be mitigated with stipulated palliative treatment or they should be brought into the alimentary tract and then they should be expelled out by the nearby route (either by mouth – by emeisis – Vamana or by anal route, by purgation – Virechana).
