hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्निग्धै रसाद्यैर्नात्युष्णैरभ्यङ्गैश्च शमं नयेत् । अनुत्क्लिष्टकफास्विन्नदुर्बलानां हि शोधनात् ॥ १७ ॥
should be pacified, by (drinking) of meat soup mixed with fat and anointing the body with oils which are not too hot. Vata gets aggravated by purifactory therapies in persons in whom Kapha has not been excited (slightly increased), who have not been administered sudation therapy, and who are weak.

The aggravated vata gains access to the vital organs (the chest /lungs in the present context), causes dryness in it and leads to death quickly. Hence it should be mitigated by the use of decoctions, confections, oleation therapy etc.

hidhmā – hiccup, śvāsaan – dyspnea, kṣīṇa kṣata – associated with emaciation, injury to chest, atisāra – diarrhea, asṛkpitta dāha anubandhajān – bleeding diseases associated with burning sensation, should be treated with herbs and foods that are sweet, unctuous, cold in potency.
