Arthashastra
रक्षेत् स्व दण्डं व्यसने शत्रुभ्यो नित्यम् उत्थितः । प्रहरेद् दण्ड रन्ध्रेषु शत्रूणां नित्यम् उत्थितः ॥
He (the king) should ever carefully guard his army from the troubles caused by an enemy, and should ever be ready to strike his enemy's army when the latter is under troubles.

rakSet sva daNDaM vyasane zatrubhyo nityam utthitaH । prahared daNDa randhreSu zatrUNAM nityam utthitaH ॥
