Experts in sacred magic and mysticism (máyáyogavidah), and persons learned in the Vedas, shall perform, incantations against rain.

During drought shall Indra (sachínátha), the Ganges, mountains, and Mahákachchha be worshipped.

varSa avagrahe zacI nAtha gaGgA parvata mahA kaccha pUjAH kArayet ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptव्याधि भयम् औपनिषदिकैः प्रतीकारैः प्रतिकुर्युः, औषधैश् चिकित्सकाः शान्ति प्रायश्चित्तैर् वा सिद्ध तापसाः ॥
(Pestilences.) Such remedial measures as will be treated of in the 14th book shall be taken against pestilences. Physicians with their medicines, and ascetics and prophets with their auspicious and purificatory ceremonials shall also overcome pestilences.

Besides the above measures, oblations to gods, the ceremonial called, Mahá-kachchhavardhana, milking the cows on cremation or burial grounds, burning the trunk of a corpse, and spending nights in devotion to gods shall also be observed.
