कार्पास क्षौमाणां पञ्च पले पलं सूत्रम् ॥
Five palas of kárpása (cotton) and of kshauma (flax) will yield one pala of threads.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptपञ्च द्रोणे शालीनां द्वादश आढकं तण्डुलानां कलभ भोजनम्, एकादशकं व्यालानाम्, दशकम् औपवाह्यानां नवकं साम्नाह्यानाम्, अष्टकं पत्तीनाम्, सप्तकं मुख्यानाम्, षट्कं देवी कुमाराणाम्, पञ्चकं राज्ञाम्, अखण्ड परिशुद्धानां वा तुअण्डुलानां प्रस्थः ॥
Rice prepared in such a way that five dróna of sáli yield ten ádhakas of rice will be fit to be the food of young elephants; eleven ádhakas from five drónas for elephants of bad temper (vyála); ten ádhakas from the same quantity for elephants trained for riding; nine ádhakas from the same quantity for elephants used in war; eight ádhakas from the same for infantry; eleven ádhakas from the same for chiefs of the army; six ádhakas from the same for queens and princes and five ádhakas from the same quantity for kings.

paJca droNe zAlInAM dvAdaza ADhakaM taNDulAnAM kalabha bhojanam, ekAdazakaM vyAlAnAm, dazakam aupavAhyAnAM navakaM sAmnAhyAnAm, aSTakaM pattInAm, saptakaM mukhyAnAm, SaTkaM devI kumArANAm, paJcakaM rAjJAm, akhaNDa parizuddhAnAM vA tuaNDulAnAM prasthaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतण्डुलानां प्रस्थः चतुर् भागः सूपः सूप षोडशो लवणस्य अंशः चतुर् भागः सर्पिषस् तैलस्य वा एकम् आर्य भक्तं पुंसः ॥
One prastha of rice, pure and unsplit, one-fourth prastha of súpa, and clarified butter or oil equal to one-fourth part of (súpa) will suffice to form one meal of an Arya.
english translation
taNDulAnAM prasthaH catur bhAgaH sUpaH sUpa SoDazo lavaNasya aMzaH catur bhAgaH sarpiSas tailasya vA ekam Arya bhaktaM puMsaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptषड् भागः सूपः अर्ध स्नेहम् अवराणाम् ॥
One-sixth prastha of súpa for a man; and half the above quantity of oil will form one meal for low castes (avara).
english translation
SaD bhAgaH sUpaH ardha sneham avarANAm ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपाद ऊनं स्त्रीणाम् ॥
The same rations less by one-fourth the above quantities will form one meal for a woman.
