आयुध अगार अध्यक्षः सांग्रामिकं दौर्गकर्मिकं पर पुर अभिघातिकं च यन्त्रम् आयुधम् आवरणम् उपकरणं च तज् जात कारु शिल्पिभिः कृत कर्म प्रमाण काल वेतन फल निष्पत्तिभिः कारयेत्, स्व भूमिषु च स्थापयेत् ॥
THE Superintendent of the Armoury shall employ experienced workmen of tried ability to manufacture in a given time and for fixed wages wheels, weapons, mail armour, and other accessory instruments for use in battles, in the construction or defence of forts, or in destroying the cities or strongholds of enemies.

स्थान परिवर्तनम् आतप प्रवात प्रदानं च बहुशः कुर्यात् ॥
All these weapons and instruments shall be kept in places suitably prepared for them.

ऊष्म उपस्नेह क्रिमिभिर् उपहन्यमानम् अन्यथा स्थापयेत् ॥
Such weapons as are likely to be affected by heat and vapour (úshmopasneha) and to be eaten by worms shall be kept in safe localities.

जाति रूप लक्षण प्रमाण आगम मूल्य निक्षेपैश् च उपलभेत ॥
They shall also be examined now and then with reference to the class to which they belong, their forms, their characteristics, their size, their source, their value, and their total quantity.

सर्वतो भद्र जामदग्न्य बहु मुख विश्वास घाति संघाटी यानक पर्जन्यक बाहु ऊर्ध्व बाह्व् अर्ध बाहूनि स्थित यन्त्राणि ॥
Sarvatobhadra, jamadagnya, bahumukha, visvásagháti, samgháti, yánaka, parjanyaka, ardhabáhu, and úrdhvabáhu are immoveable machines (sthirayantrám).
