सामन्त आटविक तत् कुलीन अपरुद्धैश् च एषां राज्यानि घातयेत्, सार्थ व्रज अटवीर् वा, दण्डं वा अभिसृतम् ॥
Or by bringing about friendship or marriage connection between persons who have not been hitherto connected, spies may separate them from others; or through the aid of a neighbouring king, a wild chief, a scion of an enemy‟s family, or an imprisoned prince, local enemies may be destroyed outside the kingdom; or through the agency of a caravan or wild tribes, a local enemy may be killed along with his army.
english translation
sAmanta ATavika tat kulIna aparuddhaiz ca eSAM rAjyAni ghAtayet, sArtha vraja aTavIr vA, daNDaM vA abhisRtam ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरस्पर अपाश्रयाश् च एषां जाति संघाश् छिद्रेषु प्रहरेयुः, गूढाश् च अग्नि रस शस्त्रेण ॥
or persons, pretending to be the supporters of a local enemy and who are of the same caste, may under favourable opportunities kill him; or spies under concealment may kill local enemies with fire, poison, and weapons.
english translation
paraspara apAzrayAz ca eSAM jAti saMghAz chidreSu prahareyuH, gUDhAz ca agni rasa zastreNa ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवीतंस गिलवच् च अरीन् योगैर् आचरितैः शठः । घातयेत् पर मिश्रायां विश्वासेन आमिषेण च ॥
Whenthe country is full of local enemies, they may be got rid of by making them drink poisonous (liquids); an obstinate (clever) enemy may be destroyed by spies or by means of (poisoned) flesh given to him in good faith.
