वायुर्वात्युत्तरः शीतो रजोधूमाकुला दिशः । छन्नस्तुषारैः सविता हिमानद्धा जलाशयाः ॥२२॥

The wind is cold and northern, the directions are filled with dust and smoke, the sun is covered with frost, and the water sources are covered with ice.

दर्पिता ध्वाङ्क्षखङ्गाह्वमहिषोरभ्रकुञ्जराः । रोध्रप्रियङ्गुपुन्नागाः पुष्पिता हिमसाह्वये ॥२३॥

The haughty elephants, buffaloes, and wild elephants, are adorned with snow; the plants of rodhra, priyangu, and punnaaga, are blooming in the cold season.

शिशिरे शीतमधिकं वातवृष्ट्याकुला दिशः । शेषं हेमन्तवत् सर्वं विज्ञेयं लक्षणं बुधैः ॥२४॥

In the winter, the directions are overwhelmed with cold and wind-driven rain. The remaining features are to be understood as indicative of the winter season by the wise.

सिद्धविद्याधरवधूचरणालक्तकाङ्किते । मलये चन्दनलतापरिष्वङ्गाधिवासिते ॥२५॥

In the mountain ranges adorned with the marks of the feet of accomplished beings and celestial nymphs, and in the sandalwood forests of the Malaya mountains where the fragrance of entwined sandalwood trees prevails.
