तत्रैतेषां रसानां संयोगास्त्रिषष्टिर्भवन्ति | तद्यथा- पञ्चदश द्विकाः, विंशतिस्त्रिकाः, पञ्चदश चतुष्काः, षट् पञ्चकाः, एकशः षड्रसाः, एकः षट्क इति | तेषामन्यत्र प्रयोजनानि वक्ष्यामः ||१२||

There are 56 combinations of these tastes. They are as follows: Fifteen combinations of two tastes each. Twenty-three combinations of three tastes each. Fifteen combinations of four tastes each. Six combinations of five tastes each. One combination of six tastes. One combination of all six tastes together. The specific uses of these combinations will be discussed separately.
