वातव्याधिः प्रमेहश्च कुष्ठमर्शो भगन्दरम् । अश्मरी मूढगर्भश्च तथैवोदरमष्टमम् ॥४॥
The following eight diseases are inherently very hard to cure: paralysis (Vata-vyadhi), morbid discharges (Prameha), leprosy (Kushtha), piles (Arsha), fistula in ano (Bhagandara), stone in the bladder (Ashmari), false presentations (Mudha-garbha), and the eight types of abdominal dropsy (Udara).
