Sushruta Samhita
शणजक्षौमसूत्राभ्यां स्नाय्वा बालेन वा पुनः । मूर्वागुडूचीतानैर्वा सीव्येद्वेल्लितकं शनैः ॥२१॥
The wound should be sutured slowly and carefully using threads made from either a piece of cloth or from Snayu (ligament) or Bāla (a type of fiber), or from the fibers of Murva or Gudūcī.
