तत्र सम्यग्दग्धे विकारोपशमो लाघवमनास्रावश्च || हीनदग्धे तोदकण्डुजाड्यानि व्याधिवृद्धिश्च || अतिदग्धे दाहपाकरागस्रावाङ्गमर्दक्लमपिपासामूर्च्छाः स्युर्मरणं वा ||२६||

In well-burnt cases, symptoms are alleviated, and there is lightness, no discharge. In poorly burnt cases, there are symptoms like itching, swelling, and an increase in disease. In excessively burnt cases, there may be burning, bleeding, discharge, body pain, fatigue, thirst, fainting, or even death.

क्षारदग्धव्रणं तु यथादोषं यथाव्याधि चोपक्रमेत् ||२७||

A wound burnt with alkaline substance should be treated according to its dosha and disease type.

अथ नैते क्षारकृत्याः- तद्यथा- दुर्बलबालस्थविरभीरुसर्वाङ्गशूनोदरिरक्तपित्तिगर्भिण्यृतुमतीप्रवृद्धज्वरिप्रमेहिरूक्षक्षतक्षीण- तृष्णामूर्च्छोपद्रुतक्लीबापवृत्तोद्वृत्तफलयोनयः ||२८||

The following are contraindicated for treatment with alkaline substances: those who are weak, old, frail, emaciated, suffering from general debility, anemia, bleeding disorders, pregnant women, menstruating women, severe fever, diabetes, excessive thirst, fainting, and those with a history of frequent fainting, impotence, irregularities, and difficult births.

तथा मर्मसिरास्नायुसन्धितरुणास्थिसेवनीधमनीगलनाभिनखान्तःशेफःस्रोतःस्वल्पमांसेषु च देशेष्वक्ष्णोश्च न दद्यादन्यत्र वर्त्मरोगात् ||२९||

Similarly, alkaline treatments should not be applied to regions with vital points, veins, nerves, joints, or where the skin is thin, where there is inflammation, or where there is very little flesh. They should also be avoided in cases of injuries or infections along the pathway of the treatment.

तत्र क्षारसाध्येष्वपि व्याधिषु शूनगात्रमस्थिशूलिनमन्नद्वेषिणं हृदयसन्धिपीडोपद्रुतं च क्षारो न साधयति (दुर्बलबालस्थविरादीन् प्रतिसारणीय इति) ||३०||

In cases where the disease is in a body with thin flesh, bone pain, aversion to food, or disturbances in the heart or joints, alkaline treatment should not be applied. (Such conditions are unsuitable for alkaline treatment as they are categorized as difficult to treat.)
