Now we shall discourse on the Nidana of Vidradhi (abscess etc.).

The venerable Acharya, the all-knowing, spoke to his disciple, detailing the entire characteristics of Vidradhi (abscess).

sarvAmaraguruH zrImAnnimittAntarabhUmipaH । ziSyAyovAca nikhilamidaM vidradhilakSaNam ॥3॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्वग्रक्तमांसमेदांसि प्रदूष्यास्थिसमाश्रिताः । दोषाः शोफं शनैर्घोरं जनयन्त्युच्छ्रिता भृशम् ॥४॥
The deranged Doshas, vitiating the skin, blood, flesh, and fat, gradually produce a severe and terrible swelling.

विक्षिप्त दोष, त्वचा, रक्त, मांस और मेद को दूषित करके, धीरे-धीरे भयंकर और भयंकर शोफ उत्पन्न करते हैं।

hk transliteration by Sanscriptमहामूलं रुजावन्तं वृत्तं चा(वाऽ)प्यथवाऽऽयतम् । तमाहुर्विद्रधिं धीरा, विज्ञेयः स च षड्विधः ॥५॥
The wise describe it as Vidradhi, which is painful and exhibits a rounded or extended shape; it is known to be of six types.
