Now we shall discourse on the treatment of an Anuvasana vasti and an Uttara vasti.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptविरेचनात् सप्तरात्रे गते जातबलाय वै । कृतान्नायानुवास्याय सम्यग्देयोऽनुवासनः ॥३॥
After the administration of purgation, if a person is properly nourished and has a good constitution after seven nights, then the Anuvasana should be administered appropriately.

विरेचन के बाद, यदि व्यक्ति सात रात्रियों के बाद भी ठीक से पोषित है और उसका शारीरिक गठन अच्छा है, तो अनुवासन को उचित रूप से दिया जाना चाहिए।

The quantities of the Niruha enemas as described are to be applied to the bodies of individuals based on their age, specifically those which are considered to be half of the measurements taken from the feet.

yathAvayo nirUhANAM yA mAtrAH parikIrtitAH । pAdAvakRSTAstAH kAryAH snehabastiSu dehinAm ॥4॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउत्सृष्टानिलविण्मूत्रे नरे बस्तिं विधापयेत् । एतैर्हि विहतः स्नेहो नैवान्तः प्रतिपद्यते ॥५॥
The enema should be administered to a person whose natural urges for flatus and urine have been expelled; otherwise, the Sneha (oil) will not be retained within.

एनिमा उस व्यक्ति को दिया जाना चाहिए जिसकी पेट फूलने और पेशाब करने की स्वाभाविक इच्छा समाप्त हो गई हो; अन्यथा स्नेह (तेल) शरीर में नहीं रुकेगा।
