Sushruta Samhita
तत्र तापोष्मस्वेदौ विशेषतः श्लेष्मघ्नौ, उपनाहस्वेदो वातघ्नः, अन्यतरस्मिन् पित्तसंसृष्टे द्रवस्वेद इति ॥१४॥
Among these, the thermal and moist fomentations are especially effective against mucus; the medicated fomentation (Upanaha Sveda) is effective against Vata; and the liquid fomentation (Drava Sveda) is indicated when there is an accumulation of Pitta.

इनमें से, तापीय और आर्द्र सिंकाई विशेष रूप से बलगम के विरुद्ध प्रभावी है; औषधीय सिंकाई (उपनहा स्वेद) वात के विरुद्ध प्रभावी है; और तरल सिंकाई (द्रव स्वेद) पित्त के संचयन के लिए उपयुक्त है।
