यदि दांत के साथ कोई नस जुड़ी हो तो उसे निकलवा देना चाहिए। शल्य चिकित्सा उपकरण से मांस काटने के बाद, यह सुनिश्चित किया जाना चाहिए कि कोई अतिरिक्त न रह जाए।
