नातोऽन्यत् कष्टतममस्ति यथा मूढगर्भशल्योद्धरणम्; अत्र हि योनियकृत्प्लीहान्त्रविवरगर्भाशयानां मध्ये कर्म कर्तव्यं स्पर्शेन, उत्कर्षणापकर्षणस्थानापवर्तनोत्कर्तनभेदनच्छेदनपीडनर्जूकरणदारणानि चैकहस्तेन गर्भं गर्भिणीं चाहिंसता, तस्मादधिपतिमापृच्छ्य परं च यत्नमास्थायोपक्रमेत ॥३॥
There is nothing more difficult than the surgical extraction of a fetus in abnormal presentation. Here, the procedure is performed by touch, within the vagina, spleen, intestines, and uterus. The fetus should be removed using techniques such as pulling, pushing, repositioning, cutting, and dividing, all with one hand, without causing harm to the fetus or the mother. Therefore, after consulting the chief and taking utmost care, one should proceed with the intervention.
